TRANSFER NEWS: THIS IS HOW CHELSEA HIJACKED PEDRO'S MOVE TO MANCHESTER UNITED

Chelsea got one over on Manchester
United when they hijacked their move
for Pedro.
The Barcelona star is set to complete a
£22million switch to Stamford Bridge
after jetting into London to undergo a
medical.
United chief Ed Woodward flew to Spain
earlier this week to try and wrap up a
deal for the forward, but Chelsea
director Marina Granovskaia was also
negotiating with Barcelona.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho and Cesc
Fabregas were convincing Pedro his
future was in west London, while the
midfielder's girlfriend, Daniella Semann,
was working on Pedro’s wife, Carolina
Martin.
United claimed on Wednesday afternoon
that they had pulled the plug on the deal
on the instruction of manager Louis van
Gaal.
However, the 28-year-old was already
winging his way to the capital to finalise
a move to the champions.
Pedro had been urged not to join United
by Hristo Stoichkov, who slammed Van
Gaal. The former Barcelona frontman
spoke with Mourinho and Fabregas
during a visit to Chelsea's headquarters
last week.
Reports in Spain claim Pedro was put off
by Van Gaal’s treatment of his former
team-mate Victor Valdes after the keeper
was bombed out by the Dutchman.
United's failure to get the deal over the
line has turned up the heat on
Woodward to land a striker before the
window closes.
